Welcome to the Village of Atwood, Illinois. Adjacent to the Lake Fork River, strategically located between Decatur and Champaign, Atwood is home to 1224 friendly country people. Atwood is the home of the Apple Dumpling Festival, held annually the third weekend of August.

Atwood has a number of businesses and is host to several churches. Straddling the Piatt and Douglas County lines, we are on the northern edge of Amish Country! It is not unusual to see a buggy filled with Amish residents visiting our businesses or a garage sale, or just passing through the community!
